He is Risen!

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.  His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.  The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid,” for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.  Come and see the place where he lay.  Then go quickly and tell his disciples:  ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.  There you will see him.’  Now I have told you.”

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.  Suddenly Jesus met them “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”   Matthew 28:1-10 (NIV)

The painting above is a fresco showing the Resurrection of Christ, and the Women at the Tomb and was painted by Fra Angelico during his stay in a Dominican monastery in Florence  in 1440.  I wish you all a blessed and happy Easter!

We had a great day, thanks!

  4. You know this was a beautiful post. I slept and then went to my mom’s to microwave the dinner we bought at Costco. Love that store since I can buy so many cooked things that just need microwaved. It was just a simple dinner and she was happy. She did not want to go anywhere in case she needed her oxygen. She does not like to use the portable one. I had to stay fairly far away from her, being sick still.

Doc said I must have had an allergic reaction to the ear drops. It was like a “Duh” moment. A wasted trip and a waste of money because there was nothing he could do other then what I had already done with stopping the meds. Oh well. Well I am not well, oh well.

Glad you had a great Easter and thanks for this beautiful post.

    God bless.

Easter is my fav because we are assured he is alive and I always celebrate his death for just that fact — that he rose again for us! AMEN! Please get well I so worry about you. Hugs and blessings
