Theme Thursday…Mirror

Mirror, mirror on the wall

Who’s the fairest of them all?

Hello?  Anybody there?   I’ll re-phrase.

—–

Mirror, mirror on the wall

I Windexed the heck outta you, you’ll recall

Now who’s the fairest of them all?

Hello?  Mirror?  ….silence ensues

——

Mirror, mirror on the wall

I’m the one can make you fall

Now who’s the fairest of them all?

Hello?  Perhaps I have wrong mirror.

——

Mirror, mirror over my dresser

Must I continue to be the guesser

Of who’s the fairest of them all?

…silence…

——-

Mirror, mirror in my compact

Your absolute failure to interact

With who’s the fairest of them all

Is truly ticking me off…

——

So, mirror, mirror, whatever mirror

I can smash your glass inferior

And damn the 7 years of bad luck.

  1. Ah, great for you to join in this week. But you know all those mirrors were just waiting for me.

LOL, got you there. Actually the mirrors were waiting for EmmaLou because you know she is the fairest of them all. I mean just look at that face. I tell you all the time that she is just too cute.

I am curious as to what she does when she looks into a mirror. I have seen some dogs growl, some try to bite or attack the “other” dog, some sniff or lick it, all kinds of funny things. I guess a mirror is just something that we cannot explain to an animal. My cats try to get away from that other “cat”. They will scratch us if we are holding them because they are trying so hard to get away.

Oh and that is some great poetry there.

    God bless.
Good morning dahlink – trying to combine my particular brand of humor with someone else’s theme is difficult at best. Hence the silly poem. And yes, EmmaLou is the fairest of them all. And the most wicked at times also, like last night as she chewed a hole in the corner of her doggie bed (the one I spent entirely too much money on at the dog store) gah… She looks in the double door mirror I have in the bathroom and she just pretty much ignores herself but she will look up at me while gazing in the mirror and that’s odd – so obviously she understands mirrors and she knows my reflection – but does she understand her own? I think so. She’s just not vain about it. LOL

  2. Hi,

I just wanted to let you know I finally got mine posted. I did a bunch of mirror haiku’s. I hope you enjoy them. I almost didn’t get anything done with me not feeling well, but once I started one haiku, I just could not stop. They are just too much fun.

Please let me know what you think about them.

    God bless.
I shall go visit now – I’m so glad you are into haiku – isn’t it fun? I love to do them. But regular poetry is not something I’m good with — my rhythm and rhyme talents just aren’t there. I’m not a very fluid person either — I’d be better at limericks, but there is only so much that rhymes with Nantucket.

  3. I think that one of the benefits of aging is that vision dims! And don’t we all look better for it?
I would like to PhotoShop my mirrors. I have definitely stopped turning over the makeup mirror to the magnifying side!

  4. Thanks for the giggle.

Patty will admire herself in a mirror while Gavin ignores mirrors.
When I’m in the bathroom primping, EmmaLou will lie down in front of mirror doors behind me and watch me through the mirror – it’s often strange when I look in my mirror and catch her eye in her mirror. I think she does it on purpose to freak me out.

  5. I got a big laugh out of your post…and I love your blog title.
Thank you…and thank you. You’d be surprised how many people don’t get it. sigh…

  6. You’re a nut. I’ve seen you around the blogs before but this was silly and fun and you own a retriever so . . .love you just for that! It’s just a piece of glass with a painted backing. So you game to do the Bloody Mary thing . . hehehehe!
Hi Baino – I’ve run into you around Mrsu’s place and seen you at other sites, too. Nice to meet you! I like silly and fun; my dog makes it mandatory!
